Congratulations to the Fifth Class Indoor Camogie Team and their coaches Ms. Newman and Mr.  Nelligan on winning the City Final on Thursday, February 16th in Old Christians GAA Club.
The girls overcame stiff competition from Ballybrown NS, Gaelscoil Chaladh an Treoigh and St. Nessan’s NS before facing Monaleen NS in the City Final. Although our girls went a goal down in the first few minutes of the final, they rallied well and went on to score five goals without reply to finish the game 5 – 1 up. A delighted Team Captain Laura S accepted the Shield on behalf of her teammates. After the presentation, the girls proceeded to Starbucks in Castletroy for a well-earned hot-chocolate!
Our girls will now advance to the County Finals in Caherconlish on Tuesday, March 21st. That afternoon, they will face the winners of the three other Divisions, South, East and West, to decide who will be crowned County Champions for 2017.
