History Lesson on King Tutankhamen
On this day, 17th February 1923, Howard Carter entered King Tutankhamen’s tomb for the first time. They had first discovered the chamber in November 1922 and it had taken them until this time to excavate it, remove all the precious treasure and discover the final hidden doorway.
In Ms. Rael’s Senior Infant class we marked this special discovery in History and learnt a little about the young King and life in Egypt. The children thoroughly enjoyed the lesson and we picked a great King Tut, Hasan, to wear the crown!
