Fitzpatrick Cup 2016
To honour the memory of our former colleague Mr. George Fitzpatrick, the school holds a Gaelic games competition each January. This annual event is known as The Fitzpatrick Cup.
Mr. Fitzpatrick worked in this school for over 21 years. He made a huge contribution to school life in Milford NS through his involvement in music, GAA teams and a host of other activities in addition to his normal day-job of teaching his class.
A huge congratulations to Cillian’s team who were recently crowned Fitzpatrick Cup Champions 2016. They played fantastic hurling and gave a wonderful exhibition of teamwork throughout the competition.
Hard luck to Eric’s team who put up a gallant effort to win the title. They demonstrated superb skill and deserve great credit on reaching the final.
Congratulations to all who participated in the competition this year. Your hurling skills and behaviour were excellent. Well done!
A big thank you to all the teachers who helped out, the parents who supported and especially to Mr. Nelligan who organised the competition.
All matches were played on Tuesdays and Thursdays during January, 3-4pm, on the old astroturf facility in UL (behind UL Arena). The school community of Milford NS is extremely grateful to UL Sports Department for allowing us to use their astroturf facility. This annual competition could not take place without the assistance, generosity and goodwill of our UL neighbours.
