Sinéad Kane
Sinéad Kane visited our school on Thursday 8th June at 11am. Classes from 4th, 5th, 6th were invited to hear her speak in the Don Bosco Centre and engaged and then engage in a question and answer session. Sinéad is an inspirational Irish athlete, having completed the World Challenge Marathon Challenge this year. This is all the more remarkable, considering that she is blind. She has entered the record books as the first blind athlete in the world to complete this challenge. Sinéad is also a qualified qualified solicitor. The visit came about after Sinéad kindly accepted Jodie O’Neill’s (Sixth Class pupil) invitation to visit. Milford NS made a donation of €200 to Sinéad’s chosen charity, Cliona’s foundation. Many thanks to Fr. John Horan for facilitating the visit in the Don Bosco Centre and to Ms. Siobhán Fenton for coordinating the whole event. Here is a short movie of the visit. We hope that you enjoy it!
