Indoor Camogie County Finals 2017
Indoor Camogie County Finals, Millennium Hall, Caherconlish, Co. Limerick
Having won the City Divisional Finals in February, the Milford girls progressed on to the Indoor Camogie County Finals in the Millennium Hall in Caherconlish in Co. Limerick. The County Finals took place on March 22nd.
Milford were up against the kingpins of the other three divisions in the county, West, East and South. Our girls acquitted themselves well and represented both Milford NS and Limerick City Division with pride and distinction. Milford girls defeated a strong team from Newcastlewest (West Divisional Champions) 4 – 0 in the first game of the tournament. Next up were the masters of the South Division, Effin NS. These proved to be a tough nut to crack and our girls, although they battled manfully, were beaten 6 – 4 in a nail-biter. Our final hurdle was East Champions Cappamore. This too proved to be a tight fixture with the Milford Girls (and City Champions!) emerging victorious on a scoreline of 3 – 1.
Effin NS, having beaten all-comers in their three matches were declared Limerick County Indoor Camogie Champions 2017 and they were presented with their County Trophy by County Board Secretary Br. James Dormer.
Congratulations to Team Captain Ella and to all our amazing young camogie players on a valiant effort to bring the County Title back to the City Division….close….so close!! Maith sibh a chailíní! Molaimíd sibh…..rinne sibh gaisce ar son na scoile agus ar son na cathrach! Comhghairdeas.
